Endowments are particularly meaningful because they offer long-term financial stability through a dependable, perpetual source of funding. Our endowment was created to do just that – ensure the programs and services at Island Health thrive for years to come.
Endowed funds differ from others in that the total amount of the gift is invested. Each year earnings are reinvested into the fund. However, the Board of Directors can, in accordance with Island Health Foundation policy, vote to make a portion of the income available to support healthcare needs.
