A native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Dave graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1998 earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He was winged as a Naval Flight Officer in January 2000 and reported to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, WA for initial training in the EA-6B Prowler; an Aircraft Carrier based electronic warfare aircraft.
Following initial training, Dave served in multiple Electronic Attack squadrons and completed deployments on USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73), USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67) and USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) in support of combat operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo. In July 2008, he attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS and earning a Master of Science in Adult Education from Kansas State University. Following EA-18G transition training, Dave was assigned as the Executive Officer of Electronic Attack Squadron 132 inMay2015and subsequently became the Commanding Officer in July of 2016.
Dave then reported to the EA-18G Fleet Replacement Squadron serving as Commanding Officer from June 2018 to July 2020. Following VAQ-129, Dave completed a deployment to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar serving as Battle Director at the Combined Air and Space Operations Center. He reported to Commander Electronic Attack Wing U.S. Pacific Fleet and became the 19th Commodore of the Electronic Attack Wing leading a team of over 3000 dedicated servicemen and civilians. Dave retired from Active Duty in February 2023 and became the Vice President of Sales of Springbrook Software, a municipal government Enterprise Resource Planning software provider.
Dave accumulated over 3000 flight hours and 450 aircraft carrier arrested landings in the EA-6B, F/A-18F and EA- 18G. He is married to his beautiful and patient wife Monica where they reside with their three amazing sons; Thomas, Zach and John and energetic Springer Spaniel in Anacortes, WA where they enjoy hiking the ACFL and spending time in the North Cascades. Dave is passionate about organizational leadership and serving with a team to make a difference in the community.
