Bill Rabel is a fourth-generation Washington resident. His family oversees their business, Star Rentals, which was founded in 1960. They have 18 locations in Washington and Oregon that serve the construction and industrial markets.

Bill and his wife Wendy have two sons and three grandchildren. They moved to Anacortes in 2000.
